AHRQ Safety Program for Healthcare-Associated Infection Prevention
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), in conjunction with NORC at the University of Chicago and the Johns Hopkins University, created the AHRQ Safety Program for Healthcare-Associated Infection (HAI) Prevention to implement a bundle of recently updated evidence-based infection prevention toolkits designed to measurably decrease HAIs in hospital intensive care units (ICUs) and non-ICUs across the United States.
About the Program
- Reduce units' HAI rates
- Free 9-month program with three rolling cohorts for CLABSI, CAUTI, and VAP/VAE beginning July 2025
- Learn strategies to improve device-related infection prevention procedures and patient safety culture
On any given day, approximately 1 in 31 hospital patients in the United States has at least one healthcare-associated infection.1
