The Notification and Federal Employee Anti-discrimination and Retaliation Act of 2002 (No FEAR Act), (Public Law No. 107-174) ensures that federal agencies pay more attention to their Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and whistle-blower activities, and act expeditiously to resolve complaints.

AHRQ Policy on Nondiscrimination
AHRQ will not tolerate discrimination or harassment on the basis of that individual’s race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age (beginning at age 40), disability, genetic information (including family medical history), pregnancy accommodation, or protected EEO activity, and that unreasonably interferes with an individual’s work performance/environment by resulting in a tangible employment action, or is sufficiently severe or pervasive to alter the conditions of the victim’s employment and create a hostile or abusive working environment. These efforts are consistent with federal civil rights laws, regulations, and Executive Orders addressing equal opportunity in the Agency’s activities.
