How the Conference Advanced the Mission of the Agency: The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) provides an array of intramural and extramural predoctoral and postdoctoral educational and career development grants and opportunities in health services research. This conference supports the agencies mission of the development of health services research in emerging of excellence and works with Federal and academic partners.

How the Conference Advanced the Mission of the Agency: The purpose of the meeting directly supported AHRQ's mission to produce evidence to make health care safer, higher quality, more accessible, equitable, and affordable, and to work with HHS and other partners to make sure that the evidence is understood and used. The Agency partnered with two entities—AcademyHealth as well as the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to share AHRQ-related knowledge, resources and research outcomes to the health services research community that attended the event. It was also an opportunity to highlight our partnership and work with PCORI as well as tap into AcademyHealth’s extensive network to feature the important contributions AHRQ makes to improving health care.

Diagnostic Error in Medicine Annual Conference Grant

How the Conference Advanced the Mission of the Agency: This request is for funding of the third and final of three annual conferences to be held as part of the large conference grant "Diagnostic Error in Medicine," the AHRQ funding mechanism is the program announcement PAR09-257. This large conference grant project is in response to the AHRQ funding mechanism PAR09-257 and supports the AHRQ/CQUIPS program to reduce medical error and improve patient safety.
