Karen Fleming-Michael
Director, Office of Communications
Karen Fleming-Michael is the Director of AHRQ’s Office of Communications (OC). She began her tenure at the Agency in 2007 as a health communications specialist and later served as OC’s Director of the Division of Print and Electronic Publishing. At AHRQ, she also worked as a management analyst in the Office of Management Services and as AHRQ’s Deputy Executive Officer.
Prior to her time with AHRQ, she worked in Army public affairs offices in Panama and Frederick, MD; an Air Force public affairs office in Montgomery, AL; and as an editor for the Air Force at the Pentagon.
Karen has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Maryland and has a master’s in public administration from Auburn University-Montgomery.
