Operating Room Procedures During Inpatient Stays, 2018
This interactive visualization displays the most common and most costly principal operating room (OR) procedures overall, by patient sex, and by age group. The statistics are presented on OR procedures performed during inpatient stays in 2018 using AHRQ’s Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) 2018 National Inpatient Sample (NIS). HCUP brings together the data collection efforts of the HCUP Data Partners.
Instructions:
- Choose one of four OR data categories: Cost and Frequency; Mean Cost per Stay; Sex-age Group Detailed; Sex-age Group Totals
- Click buttons at the top of the visualization to see different data categories
- Hover over chart elements for additional details
- For Cost and Frequency, select a button to view number of procedures or aggregate cost. For Sex-age Group Detailed, select a button to view number of procedures or aggregate cost and then select a button for gender.
