Quality Measurement

Shared Decision Making

Surveys on Patient Safety Culture® (SOPS®)
The AHRQ Surveys on Patient Safety Culture® (SOPS®) program enables health care organizations to assess how their staff members’ perceive various aspects of patient safety culture in hospitals, medical offices, nursing homes, community pharmacies, and ambulatory surgery centers.
TAKEheart
TAKEheart is an AHRQ initiative to help hospitals increase participation in cardiac rehabilitation (CR) using automatic referral and care coordination. CR is a medically supervised secondary prevention program that provides patient-centric education, risk factor mitigation, supervised exercise training, and psychosocial support to improve cardiovascular health.
TalkingQuality
TalkingQuality is a comprehensive resource and guide for organizations that produce and disseminate reports to consumers on the quality of care provided by health care organizations (e.g., hospitals, health plans, medical groups, nursing homes) and individual physicians.
TeamSTEPPS®
TeamSTEPPS is an evidence-based set of teamwork tools, aimed at optimizing patient outcomes by improving communication and teamwork skills among health care professionals.
Technology Assessments
The Technology Assessment (TA) Program provides technology assessments for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). These technology assessments are used by CMS to inform its national coverage decisions for the Medicare program as well as provide information to Medicare carriers. Technology assessments are based on a systematic review of the literature, along with appropriate qualitative and quantitative methods of synthesizing data from multiple studies.
United States Health Information Knowledgebase (USHIK)
The United States Health Information Knowledgebase (USHIK) was an online, publicly accessible registry and repository of healthcare-related metadata, specifications, and standards. USHIK was funded and directed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) with management support and engagement from numerous public and private partners.
