Resource: Preparing and Presenting Performance Data (PDF, 1.666 MB, 61 (55 of which are appendices for a training exercise) pages)
Part of an AHRQ curriculum used to train practice facilitators, this resource explains how to accurately manipulate, display, and act on clinical performance data, which supports Key Driver 3: Optimize health information systems to extract data and support use of evidence in practice. The resource advocates engaging care team members to find sources of validity problems and identify data mapping errors, supporting Key Driver 2: Implement a data-driven quality improvement process to integrate evidence into practice procedures. It also describes how to prepare and present performance data to drive quality improvement. Although the resource is directed to practice facilitators, it can be used by practices. Sections of the resource include:
- Cleaning and Validating Data
