Project Description: The project has three main aims:
- To understand the organization of surgical practice in the United States.
- To examine the relationship between physician organization and quality of surgical care.
- To evaluate the relationship between physician organization and costs of surgical care.
Career Goals: Dr. Miller Is a Research Scientist at the Veteran's Affairs Center for Clinical Management Research Health Services Research and Development and an Assistant Professor of Urology and Epidemiology at the University of Michigan Medical School and School of Public Health. He received his MD from Washington University in St. Louis and served both residencies in surgery and urology. He went on to earn his MPH in Epidemiology and was then a Clinical and Health Services Research Fellow at University of Michigan. Dr. Miller was then a Health Services Research Fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), followed by a Urological Oncology Fellowship. His long-term career goal is to emerge as a clinical, scientific, and policy leader in the field of urology and to improve the quality and cost-efficiency of urological care.
