Project Description: This research will evaluate the performance of existing estimators of outcome performance, propose new estimators, and operationalize a multidimensional global measure of provider outcome performance that can be used for value-based payment policy. It will also evaluate the Massachusetts Medicaid hospital-based pay-for-performance program.
Career Goals: Dr. Ryan is an Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health, Weill Cornell Medical College. He is also a Visiting Scholar in the Heller School of Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. Dr. Ryan received his PhD in Social Policy from the Heller Graduate School at Brandeis. He then completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the same Institution. His career goal is to become a leader in the field of health care payment policy.
