Module 11A—Reprocessing Reusable Resident Care Equipment—Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training Course
This module discusses recommended practices for reprocessing reusable resident care equipment. At the conclusion of this module, participants will be able to: (1) understand how resident care equipment may transmit pathogens, (2) understand the different categories of resident care equipment and the type of reprocessing necessary to make reusable equipment safe for reuse, and (3) describe how to incorporate the reprocessing of reusable resident care equipment into an infection prevention and control program.
