National Advisory Council for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to Hold Hybrid Meeting on November 20, 2024

The National Advisory Council (NAC) for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) will hold a hybrid meeting on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. E.T. at 5600 Fishers Lane, Rockville, MD 20857.

The NAC provides advice and recommendations to the AHRQ director and to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on priorities for a national health services research agenda. The Secretary of HHS appoints 21 members from the public sector plus ex-officio members from other Federal health agencies.

The meeting agenda will feature several presentations, including:

• AHRQ Director’s Highlights, Robert Otto Valdez, Ph.D., M.H.S.A., Director, AHRQ; Sean Bruna, Ph.D., M.A., Senior Advisor to the Director, AHRQ.
• Update on AHRQ’s Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Trust Fund (PCORTF) Extension Program, Therese (Tess) Miller, Dr.P.H., Director, Center for Evidence and Practice Improvement (CEPI), AHRQ.
• Update on the Subcommittee of the National Advisory Council (SNAC) National Action Alliance to Advance Patient Safety, Craig A. Umscheid, M.D., M.S., Director, Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (CQuIPS), AHRQ; Jade Perdue-Puli, M.P.A., Senior Advisor to the Director, CQuIPS, AHRQ.
• Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Vision and Strategy, Laura L. Sessums, J.D., M.D., Chief Medical Officer, Office of the Director, AHRQ; Karen Chaves, M.H.S., Director, Division of Quality Measurement and Improvement, CQuIPS, AHRQ.

Members of the public and the media are welcome to join the meeting virtually, and there will be time for public comments. If you would like to make a public comment during the meeting, email NationalAdvisoryCouncil@ahrq.hhs.gov no later than 1:00 p.m. E.T. on November 20. The time allotted for public comments is 3:00–3:15 p.m. E.T.
