PQMP 1.0 Journal Supplement
The Pediatric Quality Measures Program (PQMP) was launched in 2011 to increase the portfolio of evidence-based, consensus pediatric quality measures available to public and private purchasers of children's healthcare services. During the initial phase of PQMP, seven Centers of Excellence were awarded cooperative agreement grants to develop new and enhanced pediatric quality measures. Their work to advance the measurement science for pediatric quality measures was featured in "Advances in Children's Healthcare Quality: The Pediatric Quality Measures Program," a special supplement published in the September-October 2014 issue of Academic Pediatrics.
The supplement discusses the factors to consider to create good measure sets and provides strategies for overcoming challenges in developing measures. The commentaries and research articles fall under three broad themes:
- The value of pediatric quality measures to stakeholders,
- The scope of the PQMP measurement initiative, and
- Challenges in developing and testing pediatric quality measures.
