New AHRQ SOPS® Workplace Safety Supplemental Items for Hospitals (Webcast)
Summary
This AHRQ webcast introduced the new Surveys on Patient Safety Culture™ (SOPS®) Workplace Safety Supplemental Items. Hospitals can use the survey items as a supplement to the SOPS Hospital Survey to assess the extent to which their organizational culture supports workplace safety for providers and staff. Speakers provided background on the importance of workplace safety, an overview of the development of the items, results from a pilot test in 28 hospitals, and share resources available for users.

About the Surveys on Patient Safety Culture
The Surveys on Patient Safety Culture are a suite of surveys that assess provider and staff opinions about patient safety culture in hospitals, outpatient medical offices, nursing homes, community pharmacies, and ambulatory surgery centers. The patient safety culture surveys program at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) supports the development and promotion of patient safety culture surveys, resources, and databases, and provides technical assistance to users.
