Start with the Guide to Implementing a Program To Reduce Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections in Long-Term Care. The program is designed to improve resident safety in the LTC setting by implementing a combination of clinical and cultural/behavioral interventions from the Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP). This guide provides guidance about how to start and implement a program, as well as information about the Long-Term Care Safety Toolkit Modules, educational bundles, and other resources to facilitate implementation.

Long-Term Care Safety Toolkit Modules
Comprises six modules (available in English and Spanish) that describe how to apply core CUSP concepts for long-term care resident safety. They support learning and implementation efforts to improve safety culture and practices in long-term care facilities. They provide concepts and tools that aim to change the way facilities do their work and provide care, allowing for better outcomes and higher quality of care for residents.
Educational Bundles
Educational bundles provide evidence-based prevention practices and strategies to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) and other HAIs in the long-term care (LTC) setting. The bundles include slide sets and accompanying training video (when applicable), as well as supplemental materials such as case scenarios, activities, quizzes with answer keys, and answers to frequently asked questions.
