About the AHRQ Safety Program for MRSA Prevention
The AHRQ Safety Program for MRSA Prevention was a 5-year national project aimed at implementing improvements in MRSA prevention across hospital acute care units (including both intensive care units and non-intensive care units), high-risk surgical services, and long-term care facilities. The program collaborated with clinicians, frontline staff, surgeons, educators, researchers, hospitals, and long-term care centers to establish comprehensive and sustainable programs to address MRSA prevention from multiple angles.
These Toolkits for MRSA Prevention were developed by the AHRQ Safety Program based on the best available evidence and the experiences of frontline clinical teams. The goal of these toolkits is to assist staff and leadership in improving infection prevention practices and ultimately reduce MRSA rates in their units and facilities.
